Purpose of this application

What SEOBoss does

A user provides a keyword list or keyword research request. With the user's authorization, SEOBoss can use the Google Ads API to retrieve keyword-planning metrics for the keywords being researched, including historical search volume, competition, competition index, and bid-range information.

SEOBoss presents those metrics in a structured research workflow where the user can review search demand, compare keywords, examine trends and related groups, evaluate probable search intent, shortlist opportunities, and export selected research.

The purpose of SEOBoss is keyword research and analysis. The user remains responsible for deciding which keywords to pursue and how to use the resulting research.

3. Decide

Shortlist and export

The user compares opportunities, chooses relevant keywords, and exports a focused research set for downstream SEO or content work.

Google data access

Why SEOBoss requests Google Ads access

SEOBoss requests access to Google Ads data solely to support the keyword-research functionality described on this page. When authorized, the application may retrieve Google Ads keyword-planning metrics needed for a user's research, such as historical search demand, competition, competition index, and bid-range metrics.

SEOBoss uses this data to display quantitative keyword research information to the user. Google-provided metrics may be combined with SEOBoss-derived analysis such as intent classifications, clusters, trend indicators, and opportunity scores. Internally derived fields are not represented as data provided by Google.

SEOBoss does not use this access to automatically create, edit, pause, or delete advertising campaigns; create ads; or change advertising budgets or bids.
